Tae Kwon Do Little Dragons Aerobic Kickboxing

What is aerobic kickboxing?
Aerobic kickboxing combines Tae Kwon Do skills, fast paced music and aerobic and anaerobic exercise into a great workout. We use heavy bags filled with water for resistance as well as free weights...and make sure everyone who leaves the class is dripping with sweat.

What is the difference between your cardio kickboxing and everyone else's?
The mainn difference is the use of Tae Kwon Do. Our instructors all have atleast their first degree blackbelt in tae kwon do. This allows them to make sure you are throwing the techniques correctly to prevent injury and give you a better workout. Also, everyone who comes to class gets their own personal Wavemaster heavy bag. This is a heavy bag with a water base that allows for resistance training but still moves, or jumps, so you know how hard you are hitting it. These bags also provide for a great stress relief and our classes allow you to burn over 800 calories an hour.

Is it going to be too difficult for me?
Absolutely not. While you may not be able to keep up with everyone the first class, usually by the 3rd class you are staying in time with the music. However, this is not choreographed so you are more than welcome to go at your own pace. You will gain confidence with every class.

What can I gain from aerobic kickboxing?
Aerobic kickboxing is great exercise. It burns fat, increases strength and is a stress release no matter where you take it. You will, however, also gain a basic understanding of Tae Kwon Do if you take class with us. This leads a lot students to end up taking Tae Kwon Do in addition to their kickboxing - and those students end up having an easier time with the art.

What should I wear?
Comfortable workout clothes, towel, a bottle of water, and a willingness to sweat. As martial artists we work out in bare feet. If you chose a workout shoe, be sure it has a low gripping bottom since our techniques involve pivoting on the ball of our foot.
